Wherewithhaul

Wherewithal comes from where and withal (meaning “with”), and it has been used as a conjunction meaning “with or by means of which” and as a pronoun meaning “that with or by which.” These days, however, it is almost always used as a noun referring to the means or resources a person has at one’s disposal—especially financial resources.

The most important “means or resources” a person can possess is knowledge, a desire to excel, and good work ethic. With those two core ingredients I believe a person can achieve just about anything.

Wherewithhaul, is of course, a play on the spelling of wherewithal, with an obvious nod to U-Haul, my current employer.

Master Technician Progress Tracker

Having completed the 18 courses and five Mastery Exams required to be recognized as a Certified Trailer/SRI Technician, I decided to next tackle a much more intensive and demanding training path.

The Certified Truck Technician training path consists of 99 courses and a further five Mastery Exams. Unlike the Trailer Technician courses, which were all available on U-Haul University (UHU), the vast majority of the Truck Technician courses are accessible only through GMC or Ford portals, and are of a much more technical and challenging level.

Not having any significant mechanical experience, I’ve found the transition from the Trailer courses to the Truck courses to be quite challenging. This may be in part due to the courses being online training with no practical hands-on experience to reinforce what is being taught.

It is my intention to complete the educational and training requirements of both the Trailer and Truck Technician learning paths to be recognized as a U-Haul Master Technician, despite being a front-line Customer Service Representative.

After all, E x KH = R.
